MA-Ed: Instructional Technology

The Master of Arts in Education with a specialty in Instructional Technology offers a unique blend of online courses that integrate the MA-Ed foundation with the Instructional Technology track and a practical research project designed to enhance the academic experiences of K-12 learners.

The 36 credit degree program can be completed in less than 30 months by taking one course every eight weeks. The program culminates with a two-semester action research project and creation of a portfolio.

This MA-Ed specialty provides an appropriate degree for teachers who are seeking to enrich their use of classroom technology as well as those who aspire to be instructional technology coordinators and educators. The curriculum provides the learner experience with a wide variety of technological tools and fosters application of skills in program design and administration.

Best practice and technical training are threaded throughout the program to develop dynamic 21st century Christian learners and educators who are committed to meeting the needs of diverse learners. Leadership opportunities are integrated throughout the program and in a required practicum experience.

The MA-Ed in Instructional Technology enhances cognitive, analytical, and reflective thinking skills through the application of technological tools in an action research capstone experience. Those students seeking initial teacher certification may need to complete additional coursework to meet state licensure requirements.

Enrollment Requirements:

Candidates for enrollment in the graduate program must have a bachelor’s degree and should have teaching experience or have access to clinical experiences in the K-12 setting.
